Melanie Adams on Her New Book “Kingdom BOSS Chick 2: The Feminine Imprint
Teen Author Melanie Adams is a 13-year-old 8th grader who loves connecting with God through gospel music and prayer walks. She believes God has blessed her with a passion for figure skating, a sport she first discovered during a P.E. final and has enjoyed ever since. When she’s not on the ice, Melanie loves crafting and spending time with friends. She hopes her devotional will inspire other girls to grow closer to God and discover the unique gifts He’s placed inside them.
1. What made you say yes to becoming an author of KBC 2: The Feminine Imprint?
I said yes because I wanted to help other girls grow closer to Jesus and really understand their relationship with Him. I know what it feels like to struggle and think you’re the only one going through something hard. I wanted girls to know they are not alone, even when it feels confusing, lonely, or like there’s no clear path. God is always behind the scenes, watching over us, loving us, and gently guiding us in the right direction, even when we can’t see it yet.
2. What real-life battles do girls today face that this book speaks to most strongly?
Girls today face so much pressure. Friend problems, drama, comparison, and the feeling that you have to be perfect all the time can be overwhelming. There’s stress about grades, expectations, and trying to keep everyone happy. This book speaks right into those struggles and reminds girls that they don’t have to carry everything on their own. God is there in the middle of the chaos, ready to help, comfort, and remind them that their worth is not based on how they perform or compare to others.
3. Who encouraged you during the writing process?
I was encouraged by the girls who go through the same struggles as me. Thinking about them helped me keep going, knowing that God is with them just like He is with me. I wanted them to find a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus. I was also encouraged by the other authors, Zoe, McKinley, and Adelaida. Their faith, support, and dedication truly inspired me throughout the process.
4. Tell us a little bit about your chapter and how you feel it will resonate with other young girls?
Part one
Hannah’s story begins with a deep desire in her heart. More than anything, Hannah wanted a child. In her time, this was not just a wish, it was something that affected how she was seen and treated. Because she could not have children, Hannah felt broken, ashamed, and unworthy. On top of that, she was constantly reminded of her pain by others, which made her struggle even harder. She felt misunderstood and hurt, carrying a silent battle that no one else truly saw.
When Hannah prayed to God, she didn’t hold anything back. She cried, poured out her heart, and spoke to God honestly about her pain. Sometimes her prayers were so emotional that others misunderstood her, but God never did. Hannah struggled with waiting, with trusting, and with believing that God truly heard her. Yet, even in her pain, she stayed faithful. She believed that God saw her tears and knew her heart.
What makes Hannah’s story so powerful is that she didn’t let her suffering pull her away from God; it pushed her closer to Him. She trusted God even before she saw the answer. Her story reminds girls today that it’s okay to want something deeply and still struggle while waiting. When girls feel overwhelmed by pressure, disappointment, or unanswered prayers, Hannah shows us that God listens, God cares, and God works in His perfect timing. Her faith teaches us that even in seasons of waiting, God is shaping us and strengthening our relationship with Him.
Part two
Ruth’s story is one of loss, courage, and quiet faith. Ruth faced deep heartbreak when she lost her husband. Suddenly, her life changed completely. She had no clear future, no security, and no idea what was coming next. She was left with a choice to return to what was familiar or step into the unknown. Ruth chose to stay loyal, even when it was hard. She left behind her old life and followed God, trusting Him without knowing the outcome.
As Ruth traveled to a new land, she likely felt afraid, unsure, and alone. She had no promises that life would get better, yet she continued forward. To survive, Ruth worked long days in the fields, humbly gathering food just to make it through. Even during this difficult season, God was quietly protecting her, guiding her steps, and placing the right people in her path.
Ruth didn’t realize it at the time, but God was working behind the scenes. Every step she took, every moment of uncertainty, was leading her toward something greater. Her faithfulness and trust were rewarded in ways she never could have imagined. Ruth’s journey reminds girls today that feeling lost or wandering does not mean God has abandoned you. Even when life feels confusing, lonely, or uncertain, God is near, watching, guiding, and leading you toward His plan.
Ruth’s story encourages girls to trust God even when they can’t see past their problems or struggles. It teaches that God knows the bigger picture and wants more for us than we could ever plan for ourselves. When life feels heavy and unclear, Ruth reminds us that God’s plan is still unfolding, even in the silence.
5. If you could pray one prayer over every girl who reads this book, what would it be?
Prayer:
Dear God,
I pray for every girl who opens this book. Please remind her that she is never alone, even when life feels heavy or confusing. When she feels afraid, insecure, or overwhelmed, wrap her in Your peace. Help her to see herself the way You see her, loved, chosen, and enough just as she is. Give her strength when she feels weak, hope when she feels discouraged, and faith when she feels unsure. Teach her to trust You, even when she doesn’t understand what You’re doing. Help her know that You are always with her, guiding her steps and holding her heart. Amen.
This prayer is about reminding girls and me that God is always with them, no matter what they’re facing. It asks God to bring peace, strength, and confidence into their lives, especially during hard moments. More than anything, it’s a reminder that they are deeply loved by God and never have to walk through life on their own.
6. How can girls your age walk boldly in faith and make an impact right now?
Girls can walk boldly in faith by choosing God daily, even in small ways. By praying, standing up for what’s right, being kind when it’s hard, and loving others the way Jesus does. You don’t have to be perfect or have everything figured out to make an impact. When you trust God and live out your faith honestly, people notice. Your faith can be a light to others, right where you are.
7. What message do you hope every girl remembers after reading this book?
I hope every girl remembers that no matter what she’s facing, friend troubles, drama, comparison, pressure, stress, fear, or self-doubt, that God is with her. He is guiding her, protecting her, and leading her toward a bright future. She doesn’t have to be perfect or hold herself to impossible expectations. God loves her even when she makes mistakes, and she is completely deserving of His love. I hope she remembers to pray, stay faithful, stay loyal through the good and the bad, and look for God in everything, because He is always there.
