My Journey Wasn’t Just for Me—It Was the Weapon God Would Use

There was a time I believed my story was too heavy to carry, let alone to share. The trauma, the silence, the broken pieces left scattered by abuse, betrayal, and disappointment had nearly crushed me. But when I finally whispered a surrendered “yes” to God, He began transforming my pain into purpose.

I used to think testimonies were just stories we told after the storm passed. But I’ve learned that our testimony isn’t just a recap—it’s a weapon, a light, and a gift. When we speak it aloud, we wage war against the lies of shame, we shine light into dark places for others, and we offer a gift of hope to the woman who’s still in her fight.

My journey as a domestic violence overcomer didn’t end with survival. God wasn’t just calling me to escape—I was called to heal, rise, and rebuild. And in the process, I discovered a deeper calling to be a vessel of encouragement for other women walking through similar valleys.

That calling led me to birth Rebirth Magazine, a digital and print platform dedicated to stories of transformation, healing, and purpose. It became more than a magazine—it became a movement. And not because I had it all figured out, but because I allowed God to use my brokenness as a blueprint for someone else’s breakthrough.

There were times I doubted if I was enough. Times I questioned why I had to endure certain things. But through every season, I’ve learned that obedience is not about perfection—it’s about surrender. Saying “yes” to God didn’t remove all the pain, but it gave the pain purpose. And that made all the difference.

Now, as a mother, grandmother, author, and purpose-pusher, I live every day with intention. Not because I have a huge platform, but because I know that obedience ripples, and even one “yes” can set another woman free.

So to the woman reading this, still wondering if her story matters: it does. Your journey—every scar, every step, every silent cry—carries weight in the Kingdom. Don’t hide it. Don’t downplay it. Your story is the sermon someone else is waiting to hear.

Whether you’re leading in ministry, rebuilding your life, starting that business, or raising children with intention, your “yes” echoes beyond you. Keep showing up. Keep telling your story. Because when we rise, we permit others to do the same.

Your journey is more than a testimony—it’s a weapon, a light, and a gift.
