My Journey: To Begin, To Continue, To Become
Faith and obedience to God calls us to step forward when the way is hidden. To trust even when uncertainty is loud. To say yes, even when every part of us aches to say no.
Today, we open the door to Angela Lewis’ unfolding journey of faith as she shared her heart with Today’s Purpose Woman.
I am Angela Lewis, a Strategic Accelerator, Brand Architect, and passionate advocate for global purpose-driven leadership, but my story isn’t just about business success. It’s about faith, resilience, and obedience to God’s call to impact lives far beyond my own.
My journey began in a season of uncertainty. I was stepping out in faith, offering my gifts, but honestly, I wasn’t totally confident. Some days, I felt like I was walking blindfolded, unsure if I was making the right move.
Every decision felt heavy, but God showed me that even the smallest steps taken in obedience could light the way for someone else’s breakthrough.
There were moments I wanted to quit. One of the hardest was a business deal that cost me everything. I felt the sting of disappointment, fear, and even failure. I questioned myself, I questioned God, and I wrestled with regret. However, in that pain, God whispered His truth: He was reshaping me, teaching me to operate in my calling without compromise. That moment became the soil where my true purpose took root. I often tell people it felt like someone pulled the rug out from under me, and I slammed my face on the ground. No amount of education or experience can fully prepare you for the traps and snares of the enemy, more specifically, if you’re already walking through a dark season. I was also in a circle of cockiness, and my spirit was in constant tussle, as this was not my personality. I desired to be more confident in what I was doing and how I helped people, but I was terrified that I was becoming arrogant. What I thought was losing everything and having to rebuild was God’s way of bringing my focus back to my original ask, which was: “How can I help businesses succeed?”
There were seasons, even recently, when I didn’t feel qualified. Despite my education or the caliber of my clients, I felt like I didn’t have enough: Enough proof, Enough validation, Enough evidence. Then one day, while advising one of my strategic clients, I heard myself say, “You need to come from behind the companies you’ve represented and let people know what you do and how you can help them.” It was within that moment I realized God was speaking to me.
Saying yes hasn’t always been easy. It’s meant stepping into the unknown, into assignments that challenged me, but every “yes” has been a choice to trust God’s plan. Each yes became a small light, not just for me, but for others who needed hope, guidance, and courage.
Starting a new business when God says “Go” is still terrifying. Now, I have three. I often hide them, only revealing what I do when the opportunity presents itself. Most of what I do is by faith: blind, bold, obedient faith.
Bottom line: God will never leave me nor forsake me.
Some of my most profound lessons came in quiet, unseen moments: a late-night prayer, a call from someone I mentor, a breakthrough in a project that seemed impossible. Those small moments reminded me that God’s provision is personal, intimate, and often unfolds in ways we never expect, and I always embrace them with a heart full of gratitude.
I also learned that people pleasing would never fulfill my destiny, and building a sustainable brand isn’t just about systems or visibility. It’s about stewardship, humility, and using your influence to lift others; and although I am Harvard-trained and an international speaker, I still remember the nights I cried over doubts, wondering if I was enough. Every time, God met me there, reminding me that He is enough.
To me, to become is to step fully into legacy, to walk in purpose, love people well, and lead through Christ-centered vision, no matter the platform. My mission isn’t just to inspire success; it’s to equip others to begin, to continue, and to become everything God has called them to be.
Every testimony, every yes, becomes a light for someone else’s healing, influence, and freedom.
God is always with us, and just like a GPS on a long journey, there will be seasons of silence, but trust this: You’re going to Nineveh anyway! It’s up to you how long it takes to get there.
I’m not perfect. I’m still learning, but I am proof that God is faithful. I’m walking in purpose, one faithful step at a time, and I’m doing it all for His glory.
We are all works in progress. Give yourself grace and remember: God has already placed everything you need inside of you.
We are all here to begin. To continue. To become.
