Unleashing the Power Within: A Profound Dive into the Life and Ministry of Dr. Angela Butts Chester
Dr. Angela Butts Chester, a woman of faith and purpose, is on a relentless mission to transform the lives of Gen X + Millennial Women across the globe. Wearing many hats as a Pastoral Counselor, TV and Radio host, Magazine EIC, and podcast host, she has also served her spiritual calling as an Associate Pastor. Over time, she has established herself as a thought leader in Women’s Empowerment, touching lives as an International Women’s Speaker.
When asked to describe herself in two words, she quotes Jeremiah 29:11, saying, “Hopeful and determined. I am someone who never surrenders my dreams and goals. I always focus on the brighter side of life and trust in God’s plan for me. I am hopeful and determined to overcome any challenges that come my way. I am grateful for every opportunity and every blessing that comes my way.”
Speaking about a life-altering experience, she says, “My family has been my pillar of strength. Their love, support, praise, and constructive criticism have shaped me. Also, surviving breast cancer (chemo + surgery + radiation) made me value the life we’re blessed with. Add to that a deep faith, and you get a woman determined to walk in her purpose and calling.”
Dr. Chester is a solopreneur, living her dream and making a difference through her Pastoral Counseling services via New Life Pastoral Counseling. Being a women’s empowerment speaker and advocate, she impacts lives through her words. “I believe every woman has a unique and powerful story to share. I use media to connect authors with the world, amplify their voices, and inspire others. I’ve been featured on various platforms where I share my insights and experiences on leadership, entrepreneurship, personal growth, and social change. My goal is to empower women and make a positive difference in the world.”
When asked about her walk in Purpose & Power, she says, “I feel I am walking in Purpose & Power by sharing the Word in an exciting way. I believe the Word can inspire people to follow their passions. I also enjoy spotlighting new people in their industry doing amazing things and making a positive impact. I believe that through creativity and innovation, I can help others solve problems and overcome challenges.”
Discussing the challenges she faced in her ministry, Dr. Angela admits, “One of the challenges I have faced is not being taken seriously because of my gender. Some have doubted my qualifications and leadership skills simply because I am a woman. It was disheartening at times, but I have never let it deter my pursuit. I have also found support from other women in ministry who have faced similar challenges and learned from their experiences and advice.”
Her final words of encouragement are from Jeremiah 29:11 and Hab 2:2. She also shares a powerful quote from Dr. Maya Angelou, “I note the obvious differences between each sort and type. But we are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
