Tamika Hall is Guiding Women from the Trenches of Despair to the Light of Righteous Living

Hall’s childhood was steeped in spirituality. Her parents were ministers and later pastors, providing a nurturing and supportive environment. However, at the tender age of five, a traumatic event shook her to the core. Molestation marked the onset of her battle with self-identity and self-worth. Despite her academic achievements, the scars of her past followed her. And at the age of 14, she faced yet another harrowing experience- she was raped. Yet, despite these grim circumstances, Hall refused to let her spirit be crushed. With unwavering strength, she boldly declares, “God does not waste our pain. He uses it to build our faith and character and to help others.”
Hall shares that her healing began after her second divorce, when she decided to confront the skeletons in her closet directly. “It was at that point that I said, okay, Lord, I have to do something different.” With the help of therapy and the healing power of faith, she overcame her struggles with self-esteem, addiction, and past traumas. “My therapist actually released me after probably about a good 6 to 8 months of work. She released me after doing the work, but after that, the Lord had to continue doing some work in me.” Hall believes in the power of forgiveness, describing it as “intentional and faith-based.”
Hall discovered a new sense of self, fearfully and wonderfully made under the watchful eyes of God. In 2022, she heard the call from the Lord, indicating a turning point in her life. “He asked her for a year of no distractions.” This period marked a transformational journey of deliverance, healing, and rediscovery for Hall.
Today, Hall is not just a survivor but a force of change. She has become a beacon of hope and empowerment for many women who are trapped in a cycle of depression and low self-esteem. Starting as a book, The Man Fast, has sparked a movement that guides women from the trenches of despair to the light of righteous living. Through her book club, Bible study, and podcast, Hall’s message is reaching women all around the world, pulling them from darkness to light.
Despite the book and the movement’s significant impact, Hall shares that she has received criticism and backlash from the title “The Man Fast”. However, she remains steadfast in her mission. “God reassured me that I was on the right path and to keep following His guidance,” she says. “It’s important to remember that we can’t always please everyone. Some people will choose to be negative and hurtful, even when we are promoting righteousness. In those moments, we must learn to be silent and trust in God’s plan.”
Hall shares that the most rewarding aspect of her journey is the transformation she has seen in the lives of the women she has helped. From breaking free from addictions and harmful relationships to birthing ministries and writing books, these women are a testament to the healing power of faith and the strength of the human spirit. “I’ve had countless testimonies from both women and men who have chosen to live a consecrated life until God sends their mate,” Says Hall. “People are walking away from homosexuality, toxic relationships, and promiscuity. Some have been delivered from addiction to pornography and masturbation. I understand the backlash; the enemy doesn’t want us to walk in freedom, so of course, there would be backlash.”
Even though Hall wears many hats—a minister, author, businesswoman, and mother—she manages to balance her life and work by starting each day with prayer, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and keeping a well-organized calendar. She relies on God’s guidance for her every move and believes in giving Him the first fruit of her day.
