Resilience, Faith and the Power of the Prophetic: Kiyanni B’s Inspiring Journey

In TODAYSPURPOSEWOMANMAG.com’s weekly column, Empowering Voices, Inspiring Souls, we feature women who have embraced their prophetic gifts and are positively impacting their communities and beyond. This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Kiyanni B, a prophetess, author, speaker, Spiritual Midwife, consultant, and publisher who dedicates her life to helping others through her prophetic calling. Kiyanni shares her journey, her challenges, and the wisdom she has gained along the way. Her story is one of resilience, faith, and a deep connection with the spiritual realm.

Kiyanni grew up in a highly prophetic household and was no stranger to the spiritual realm. As a child, she often witnessed apparitions and sense presences in the dark, initially frightening her. However, at age eight, she began writing prophetic words and gave her life to the Lord, unknowingly tapping into her calling. Reflecting on her upbringing, Kiyanni shares, “It was normal to witness apparitions and sense presences in the dark, which frightened me. However, at eight, I wrote prophetic words and gave my life to the Lord. Unfortunately, I also became spiritually attached to every generational devil associated with my last name.”

Growing up without her mother, Kiyanni would journal and write about her mother, particularly in school projects. “I wrote amazing stories about all the great things she did because I was proud of her, wanted to be like her, and thought she was beautiful!” Kiyanni reveals that many of the stories she wrote about her mother were true without her knowing it. “I would just write it. What seemed to be made-up stories of her were true! She had done those things and was working on these things. I was prophesying, flowing in a gift I didn’t even know I had. It was information never told to me; I just ‘knew’ it like it was an internal download,” she says. This experience impacted Kiyanni’s journey because she grew up wanting to know how she knew what she knew and how she had the wisdom she possessed far beyond her years.

Through ministry, conferences, and her church, Kiyanni discovered prophetic culture and began to develop her gifts. Immersing herself in these environments and pursuing a deep relationship with God allowed her to grow and mature as a prophetess. She recalls, “Pursuing the Lord with all my heart and being in prophetic atmospheres and training environments helped me develop my gifts. In 2006, I began training in the apostolic prophetic culture and have never looked back since.”

Kiyanni has faced various challenges throughout her journey, particularly when delivering difficult messages. There have been times when she was called to share warnings, corrections, and revelations that caused discomfort and fear of rejection. However, she has learned the importance of obedience to God and delivering His messages with love and integrity. Reflecting on these challenges, Kiyanni shares, “Prophets and prophetic voices deal with mounds of rejection, but as we mature, we understand it’s not US being rejected, but it’s the word. We approach it gently, with caution and with integrity.”

Kiyanni emphasizes the importance of cultivating a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit to develop and maintain her prophetic gift. Daily conversations with God, worship, sermons, spiritual and biblical-based podcasts, and studying the Word of God have become integral parts of her life. She believes understanding God’s character is key to staying connected and growing in her gifts.

Despite skepticism and criticism, Kiyanni remains steadfast in her calling. She acknowledges that what God reveals to her may be challenging for some to comprehend, but she stays focused on pleasing God rather than internalizing others’ emotions. Regarding skepticism and criticism, Kiyanni advises, “Be okay with getting it wrong sometimes too; it’s a part of your maturation process. Staying steadfast while enduring criticism is remembering it’s NOT YOU! You aim to please God; you don’t have to internalize or take ownership of someone else’s emotions.”

For those who feel called to the prophetic ministry, Kiyanni emphasizes the importance of good character, humility, integrity, and a strong conviction for the gospel of Jesus Christ. She encourages individuals to seek out Bible-based courses, attend classes, and participate in prophetic and leadership development conferences to foster growth in these areas.

As a teacher and leader, Kiyanni has made a significant impact through her teachings on prophetic intercession, prophetic culture, and deliverance. She has trained intercessors, prophets, and ministers of the gospel, developing them into powerful evangelizers. Kiyanni’s approach involves incorporating biblical references, open discussions, practical exercises, and, most importantly, inviting the Holy Spirit into the teachings.

In her coaching and leadership development business, Kiyanni integrates her prophetic calling and gifts by seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit in every session and decision. She believes that good leaders should exemplify the fruit of the Spirit and lead with Christ-like integrity. Kiyanni explains, “Inviting Him is always most effective because it’s accuracy without the guesswork.”

Maintaining a sense of balance and self-care is crucial to Kiyanni’s well-being. She understands the importance of scheduling downtime and having moments to unplug from her ministry responsibilities. This allows her to rest, recover, and restore herself. Kiyanni shares, “I maintain a sense of balance and self-care by scheduling ‘downtime’ and having times to ‘unplug’. As a minister, we have to keep in tune with the Holy Spirit, but He also provides a time of rest, recovery, and restoration for the journey.”

Through her journey, Kiyanni has learned many valuable lessons. The most important one is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to spirituality. She emphasizes the significance of patience, self-reflection, and allowing space for individual growth in one’s spiritual journey. Kiyanni shares, “One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that everyone’s journey is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to spirituality. We must be patient with ourselves and allow space for self-reflection and growth. God meets us where we are and guides us according to His perfect plan.”

Kiyanni B’s journey as a prophetess is an inspiring testament to the power of faith, resilience, and a deep connection with the spiritual realm. Her dedication to her prophetic calling, commitment to personal growth, and unwavering faith in God serve as a guiding light for others on their spiritual journeys. She aptly says, “In the end, it’s all about our relationship with God and how we allow Him to shape and mold us.”
