Dear Christian Woman Author: Your Book Is Too Important Not to Be Seen
I have to be honest. When my first book was in production, I imagined it being a book for everyone. I pictured book signings filled with people because what God gave me felt so important. I truly believed that if the message came from Him, people would automatically be drawn to it.
I was also the one who said, “Since God gave me this book, He will promote it.” And trust me, God can. He is fully capable of opening doors no strategy could ever force.
But when I did not push the book the way I should have, I was met with disappointment. I mentioned it on social media and was met with congratulations. Family members purchased copies. A few friends showed support.
And then… it was quiet. I remember wondering, Why is it not reaching people? Why are people not in a rush to get a copy of the book God gave me? If this was truly from Him, should there not be more excitement? More demand? More movement?
That quiet season forced me to confront something in myself. Was I truly trusting God, or was I avoiding responsibility? Was I assuming that divine inspiration automatically guaranteed visibility?
There are things only God can do. And then there are things He has clearly entrusted to us.
And here is the humbling truth I had to learn: while God’s truth is for all, the way He uses each of us is often specific. A message can be divinely inspired and still have a defined audience. My role was not to reach everyone, but to steward it faithfully so the right people could encounter it.
That realization changed how I see visibility.
Dear Christian woman author,
You prayed over that book. You cried while writing parts of it. You wrestled with doubt. And even in moments of insecurity, you chose obedience. You showed up to the assignment God placed on your heart and you finished it.
Now it is published… but barely visible.
Let me tell you something in love: your book is too important not to be seen. Not because you need fame. Not because you are chasing validation. But because obedience does not stop at publishing.
Many author believe that once the book is published, the work is done. They think, If God gave it to me, He will make it go where it needs to go. And yes, God gives increase. But He also expects stewardship.
The women who need your message cannot read a book they never see. They cannot be healed by words they never discover. They cannot be encouraged by pages hidden in silence. Visibility is not vanity. It is responsibility.
But stewardship does not replace dependence on God. It works alongside it. We pray, we plan, and we trust Him to open the doors no strategy could force. Promotion without prayer becomes striving. Prayer without action becomes avoidance. God invites us into both faith and faithfulness. He is not asking you to manufacture outcomes. He is asking you to partner with Him in the process.
Some Christian women shrink back because they do not want to appear self promoting. They do not want to seem prideful. They do not want to post too much or talk about their work too often. But let me be honest. If God trusted you with the message, why are you hiding it?
You would never light a candle and then place it under a basket. Your story of healing, your testimony of restoration, your wisdom from surviving divorce, grief, depression, rejection, or rebuilding was not given to you to sit quietly on a shelf. That book is not about you being seen. It is about God being glorified through your obedience.
Understanding your audience helps you not waste time or money trying to reach people who were never assigned to your voice. When you know who you are called to serve, promotion becomes purposeful instead of exhausting.
Maybe your book has been released for months. Maybe even years. Sales have slowed. Engagement is low. You feel discouraged and wonder if you missed your moment. Hear me clearly. It is not too late.
Books have seasons just like people do. And God is not bound by launch dates or algorithms. You can relaunch. You can reposition. You can pitch yourself for interviews. You can share excerpts. You can build conversations around the message. And as you do, trust that the same God who gave the vision still governs the reach.
Visibility is not a one time event. It is a strategy guided by prayer, obedience, and wisdom.
No one accidentally discovers what no one is talking about. Represented authors are positioned months in advance. Press releases are written. Media pitches are sent. Interviews are scheduled. Conversations are created around the author, not just the book. Strategy is not worldly. It is stewardship when surrendered to God.
You do not need a major publisher to think intentionally. You simply need to decide that your obedience to God to publish your book deserves effort and that your effort will remain submitted to Him.
Dear Christian woman author, your book carries healing. Your book carries instruction. Your book carries breakthrough. Your book carries permission for another woman to breathe again. Do not let fear disguise itself as humility. Do not let insecurity silence your assignment. Do not let lack of knowledge keep your message buried.
Your book is too important not to be seen. And the woman praying for answers might be waiting on what you already wrote.
